Paul Klein has been actively involved in Chicago’s arts community for over 25 years. He ran his contemporary art gallery Klein Art Works for 23 years, until closing its doors in 2004. But that hasn’t stopped him. Since its closing, Paul has been busy. He was responsible for the public art at the new McCormick Place West, where forty Illinois artists were commissioned to create work inspired by the Land of Lincoln. He also has created a blog, ArtLetter, in which he writes about the exhibitions he’s inspired by. He's also championed the idea of a Museum of Chicago Art and in 2006 Paul was chosen Man of the Year by the Chicago Society of Artists.

I cannot believe this show is going! You have done the most sensitive and insightful shows including this one on Paul Klein. He is very generous in his support of Chicago artists and I know he is personally committed to diversity. Thank you for this interview. I do agree people should goto McCormick to see the work he installed there. Wish I had been on Klein's radar when he selected the work! Can't you do a "Hello Beautiful" podcast? www.joyceowens.com
