U of I Spokesman: 'We've Turned the Page'

Richard Herman (AP/File)
Officials at the University of Illinois say they'll begin searching for a new Urbana-Champaign chancellor once a new president is put in place. Chancellor Richard Herman will resign from his position effective Monday after he was associated with an admissions controversy. Herman will stay on staff as a faculty member. U of I spokesman Thomas Hardy says students and staff won't see much change in their day-to-day life.

HARDY: I think we've really turned the page and we're moving forward at an advanced pace and certainly there's always a little trepidation about change.

Hardy says the admissions practices have been reformed thanks to the new board of trustees. Herman has served as chancellor at UIUC since 2005.
