A Chicago man accused of plotting to attack a Danish newspaper remains in jail. Tahawwur Hussain Rana appeared in federal court in Chicago Tuesday for a bond hearing.
His friend Athar Akhtar says he's prayed with Rana at a local mosque for years.
AKTAR: I think his family members and family friends and the community people they can help Rana because Rana is an innocent person.
Rana's facing two counts of conspiracy to commit terrorist acts abroad.
His attorney says people across the country have pledged one million dollars in cash and property.
Judge Nan Nolan continued the case until Tuesday afternoon.
