Daoud Nassar (Photo: D. Lamotte)
Daoud Nassar is a Palestinian farmer who owns a family vineyard in the West Bank. Today he finds himself surrounded by Israeli settlements and has struggled to hold onto his land. The Nassar family is one of the last Palestinian Christian families living and working in the fertile hill country south of Bethlehem. The Israeli government has offered millions of dollars for the land, but the family’s response has been, “This land is our mother and our mother is not for sale.” The fight has cost the family over $100,000 and they’ve fought for their land rights all the way to the Israeli Supreme Court.

Worldview spoke with Daoud recently while he was on a multi-city tour to promote his organization called Tent of Nations. They’re dedicated to fostering piece between Muslims, Christians and Jews. We also spoke with Bill Plitt and Mark Braverman who Co-founded Friends of the Tent of Nations to support the work of the Nassar Family and to bring peace, dignity and sustainability to all peoples of the region.
