In the series, In Search of the Soul, Eight Forty-Eight religion contributor Judy Valente takes us on her personal journey to define the soul and explore what happens to it upon death.  She talks with religious leaders, theorists, and those dealing with death firsthand, asking them about their beliefs of life after death.

The series continues with Judy's introspective look at her own faith.  She speaks with Dr. Myles Sheehan, S.J. about his balance between his personal belief system as a Catholic priest and his scientific training as a doctor treating terminally ill patients.
