Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson has never played for the Cubs or the White Sox, but the 13-year MLB veteran has always had a close relationship with Chicago. He was born in Blue Island, went to Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing and attended college at UIC. Granderson even lives here during the off-season. Chicago’s new D-League team, The Windy City Bulls, are making northwest suburban Hoffman Estates its home base. The Sears Centre is right off the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) at Route 59, in the heart of commuter country, home to the target demographic for the new franchise: young families. And the Bulls are putting the full force of the franchises uber-successful marketing machine behind the new endeavor.
