New Short Story Collection Blends Jazz, Baseball And Race

For decades, West Side native Mark Ruffin was known around Chicago as a jazz DJ (including a stint at WBEZ) and the jazz editor for Chicago Magazine. For the last 14 years, he’s been heard every afternoon around the country as the host and program director for Sirius XM’s jazz channel. But Ruffin’s other passion is writing.

Ruffin joins Reset to discuss his new collection of short stories, Bebop Fairy Tales: An Historical Fiction Trilogy on Jazz, Intolerance, and Baseball.

GUEST: Mark Ruffin, Sirius XM Radio program director and host
