New documentary ‘Memorial’ is a love letter to Highland Park

The film captures the community’s effort to create a memorial near the site of the mass shooting in honor of lost loved ones.

On July 4, 2022, seven people died and dozens more were wounded in a shooting during Highland Park’s annual Independence Day parade. Nearly a year after the tragedy, Memorial shares the stories of survivors and captures the community’s effort to create a memorial to honor lost loved ones.

Reset sits down with the filmmaker behind the 20-minute documentary and two survivors featured in the film.
