Kim Foxx announced earlier this year she wouldn’t seek reelection for a third term.

Clayton Harris III is a University of Chicago lecturer. He also worked as an assistant to former Mayor Richard M. Daley, a chief of staff for the Illinois Department of Transportation and a one-time top aide to ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

   

Clayton Harris is a contender to replace Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. After a key stamp of approval from the Cook County Democratic Party, he joins former Illinois Appellate Court Justice Eileen O’Neill Burke in the 2024 primary race to become the county’s next top prosecutor.
