Jennifer Tanaka is the managing editor for digital news. Prior to arriving at WBEZ, Jennifer spent more than a decade at Newsweek magazine in New York, where she covered technology, the Internet, and the computer and gaming industries. Locally, she edited the front-of-the-book and features at Chicago, where she eventually became the magazine’s executive digital editor. After a stint in higher education, Jennifer returned to journalism in 2019. She’s a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern and also holds a master’s degree from DePaul University. Originally from Honolulu, Jennifer lives in Edgewater with her family.
